I've spent years working with high school students on their college applications, and I've seen firsthand how a great personal statement can change everything. I created this course because I watched too many talented students struggle with the writing process, unsure of what to include or how to make their voice shine through. I know the pressure you're under. College admissions is competitive, and your personal statement is one of the few places where you get to tell your story directly. That's why I've distilled everything I've learned into a straightforward, practical course that actually works. My love of writing and editing combines with my expertise of undergraduate admissions for an experience that moves you naturally through the process with intuitive, generative steps. My goal isn't just to help you write an essay—it's to help you discover and express who you really are. Because when you do that authentically, admissions officers notice. --- More about me: I have worked in undergraduate admissions for over a decade. I started my career as an admissions officer for WashU (a Top 20 School), where I learned the intricate operations of a competitive admissions office. I later worked for multiple international admissions consulting groups in addition to private counseling. I’ve helped students gain admissions to universities such as Harvard, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Stanford, UChicago, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UMichigan, to name a few. In working 1:1 with students, I learned their most common questions and needs, and I have crafted this course in order to streamline the process.  I graduated from WashU with Honors, earning double majors in Anthropology and International & Area Studies with a minor in Photography. I also hold an MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics from Naropa University, where I was a Graduate Writing Fellow. I have always admired how people share their stories through text and image, which informs my work. I am now excited to share with you the synthesis all that I know to help you write your Personal Statement. Let’s do this together!
